"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."
We are encouraged, as Christians, to support the widows and orphans (James 1:27). This should not simply be limited to the two social groups, but as an example to us that we should help those who are in need.
As a congregation, we have made a conscious effort to help some of the poorest in our global community, as well as others who serve God in other congregations.
With this in mind, we are helping to support the "Seed and Fertiliser Project" in Malawi, where there is a desperate need for food. We also give support to some of the churches, ministers, orphans and schools by assisting where we can and encouraging others to do likewise.
In India, we are supporting some of the preachers and their work in Andre Pradesh, one of the poorest areas of the sub-continent. They have similar needs to those in Malawi.
